El MUndo en Guerra – Cae Francia

Los franceses habían cometido el desastroso error de prepararse para otra confrontación como la Primera Guerra Mundial. Francia tenía la mayor de las armadas europeas antes de la guerra y la protección de la fuertemente fortificada Línea Maginot. Increíblemente la Línea no llegaba hasta el Canal y los invasores alemanes simplemente que rodear las defensas y avanzar hacia el sur. El ejército francés queda humillado. París es capturada y Francia cae. El ejército expedicionario británico retrocede: Hitler permanece sereno y preparado para invadir la Gran Bretaña.

Estimados Olivia y Jose. comienzo el envio de la colección “Los 250 Mejores Albumes del Rock Iberoamericano”, que consta de estos 250 albumes completos, mas otros 60 albumes de actualización y una pequeña explicación del porqué fueron escogidos.

Desde luego en toda selección de este tipo se prestan las observaciones personales y la critica, pero el objetivo es dar a conocer estos discos, mas que crear polémica.

“Al Borde” es una revista norteamericana de música fundada en Los Ángeles en 1997 dedicada al público hispano. Su periodicidad es bisemanal y su contenido es especializado en nueva música rock en español local e internacional. La revista está dirigida por Jesús Olvera. En cada número se publica un espacio dedicado a álbumes (nacionales e internacionales), singles, canciones, películas y conciertos. En marzo publica una lista con las preferencias de los lectores. La revista a lo largo de su existencia ha cubierto entrevistas a artistas como The Mars Volta, Ozomatli, Café Tacuba e inclusive Alejandro Sanz.

En 2007, la revista ha celebrado su número 200 con los momentos más emblemáticos de la escena rockera en español. Previamente publicó 2 listas especializadas: «Las 500 canciones del rock iberoamericano» que contó con cobertura en medios como La Nación de Chile y «Los 250 álbumes del rock iberoamericano».

Esta es una lista publicada en Diciembre del 2006 por la revista norteamericana “Al Borde”; aquí se muestra una perspectiva panamericana de cuales han sido los álbumes más importantes que han contribuido a la construcción la música contemporánea de Latinoamérica y España) desde el rock tomando en cuenta popularidad, influencia y sobre todo relevancia a su respectivo estilo (desde el pop hasta el death metal), época (de los 60′s hasta el año 2004) y en sus respectivos países (de España a Estados Unidos), y respetando cierta proporcionalidad, aunque con ciertas “cerezas” como una suerte de menciones destacables por su contribución a la música popular de la América hispana.

El compilador J. L. Mercado le puso originalmente “Los 250 álbumes del rock iberoamericano”, pero los editores de AlBorde le cambiaron a “Los 250 álbumes más importantes del latin alternative” ante la carencia de un término de consenso que pueda abarcar toda la riqueza de nuestra música que no cabe en el mal llamado “latin music”.

001. Los Locos Del Ritmo – Rock! (1960)

El grupo iniciador del rock and roll mexicano de jóvenes para jóvenes. Unos jóvenes que primero se llamaron Pepe y sus Locos del Ritmo en 1958, integrado inicialmente por Antonio de la Villa, José Negrete, Alberto Figueroa, Álvaro González y Pepe del Río; ganaron el concurso de “La hora internacional del aficionado” en el canal 2 de la televisión mexicana, en parte gracias a la porra que llevaron, capitaneada por Luis Rodríguez, alias Palillo, dirigente de la porra de los Pumas del futbol americano (no confundir con Palillo de las carpas). Como premio fueron a Nueva York a concursar al show de Ted Mack donde obtuvieron el segundo lugar.

Afirma José Negrete: “Cuando regresamos de Nueva York, del Programa de Ted Mack, ingresó Rafael Acosta al grupo, y se estableció contacto con el Señor Cabero en Radio 6.20 de la Capital mexicana. Ahí pasó por varias semanas un programa llamado Veinte minutos con Pepe y sus Locos del Ritmo. Tuvimos algunos invitados y entre ellos estuvieron los Black Jeans, todavía sin César Costa.

Entre las piezas que interpretaban, había covers de piezas en inglés como Rip it up, High School confidential y composiciones originales como What to do (Chucho’s guitar) y Pipapirapau, cantadas en inglés.

Entre diciembre de 1958 y enero de 1959 grabaron un Long Play (LP) para Dimsa, el cual fue enlatado y salió a la venta en 1960, cuando se vio que el rock and roll era buen negocio. La grabación en si se llevó a cabo en una sola noche, por lo que las canciones fuern grabadas en vivo en los hechos.

El grupo cambió el nombre a Los Locos del Ritmo y quienes intervinieron en la grabación fueron: Toño de la Villa, Jesús González, José Negrete, Rafael Acosta y Álvaro González, teniendo como músicos invitados a Alberto Figueroa y a “El Médico”.

Como dice la contraportada del primer LP de los Locos del Ritmo: “En México aunque hubo intentos mal hechos de interesar al público y la juventud mexicana en las interpretaciones de artistas mexicanos, realmente no se cultivó nunca un conjunto o intérprete especializado en el Rock. Hoy después de algunos años de efervescente triunfo del Rock en Estados Unidos, discos Dimsa presenta en México prácticamente el primer conjunto de especialistas en Rock and Roll formado por cinco jóvenes conocedores de los éxitos más resonantes de hoy y de siempre en la escena norteamericana, cinco voces, dos guitarras eléctricas y una ritmicidad poco común, son los baluartes más firmes de Los Locos del ritmo, el primer auténtico grupo rockanrolero en México”.
